School Vegetable Bed Construction
Location: Manor, Sheffield

We were asked to build an allotment garden for educational purposes within an area of the school, which we fenced off for the purpose.

The vegetable beds were constructed with tanalised timber sleepers, then filled with recycled compost made from shredded garden waste.

The shredded waste was produced at Green Estate Ltd who are part of the Wildlife Trust.

The growing area was completed with the erection of a picket fence to protect and section off the area.

Allotment Garden - Design + Build
Location: Junior School, Sheffield

A garden was developed over several years to provide pupils with a learning environment to study vegetable cultivation, whilst being able to sample what they have grown.

We built a polytunnel to allow the pupils to propagate seeds for later transplanting.

The polytunnel is also used for tender vegetables.

We built raised vegetable beds for the pupils to plant seedlings and sow seeds.

While the vegetables growing, pupils were responsible for feeding and watering their plants.

The season's harvest!
